Prophecy that came true
Thoughts of an Indian Fan at the end of 4th day of the Gabba Test
Tomorrow is going to be arguably the most important day for Indian Cricket Team in this decade.
At the onset of the series, I had surmised a 0-3 drubbing at the hands of mighty kangaroos.
And at the end of the first test - I was nearly right.
Then something changed. Something happened.
'Tracer Bullet guy' did something with the team. Pep talked them. Made them believe that getting bogged down is not an option. 36 was a bad dream. Made them understand the meaning of 'one bad game'.
If Melbourne was a comeback. Sydney was a signature on Test Cricket - a commercial of sorts.
At the end of 4th day at Gabba - the game is well poised. On an even keel. Aussies have their hearts in their mouth. They know that Indians are going to try to win it - not looking to Draw this.
I am super proud of this team. Siraj, Vihari, Pujara, Pant, Shardul, Washington, Jinx, Gilly boy, Ash - they have shown how to take a hit to the chin and get back on the feet. Endure pain. Play like there is no tomorrow. They have scripted this like Life.
What they have achieved so far is comparable to #2005ashes! If they 2-1 this, they will write themselves in the history books. All of them.
Here is what I surmise for tomorrow.
Starc being Starc - will go for runs. Hazelwood will try to beat the outside edge of the Indians in the first session. Patty boy - will bowl 9 overs long first spell. Gilly boy will hit seven of them to the boundary. Hitman will establish himself as a big game player in Test. An 80 odd is good enough. Rishabh Pant will give Lyon the drubbing of his life. Maybe score 70 odd. One out of Jinx and Pujara will play the role of the anchor in the game.
India should win this by 5 wickets in the last session.
I have a 5AM alarm. What about you?
